AFR's Mongoose LS3 cylinder heads are a great way to wake up an LS engine with increased airflow. Now there's a way to get even more horsepower out of your Mongoose-equipped LS engine with a Mongoose LS3 camshaft from AFR.

The Mongoose LS3 camshafts are available in three different stages based on your horsepower goals.

The Stage One cam is a street-friendly grind that will give your engine more power without sacrificing driveability. This cam has a 223/231 duration at 0.050-inch with .604/.595 lift on the intake and exhaust respectively, and an LSA of 115. If you want just a little more horsepower and a lumpy idle, the Stage Two camshaft is what you want; the Stage Two camshaft is more aggressive with a 227/235 duration at 0.050-inches, .620"/.612" lift, and 114 LSA. For those looking to add up to 30 horsepower to their LS engine, the Stage Three camshaft is the way to go; the specs for the Stage Three camshaft are a duration of 232/244 at 0.050-inches, a lift of .629"/.612 with a 112 LSA.

Here you can see the gains each camshaft offers on a dyno graph.

Tim Torrecarion from AFR explains what the company's goals were with the new Mongoose camshafts.

"The cams were developed for customers looking to complement their Mongoose 260cc heads. The target audience for these cams are Gen-5 Camaro and C6 Corvette owners that are looking for an increase over factory, but still street-able for an N/A application."
